Description
According to William Switzler's "History of Boone County, 1870," Goshen Church was organized about 1830, and Berryman Wren was the first preacher. Located on Cedar Tree Lane, near the tiny community of
Wilton, the main portion of the present building was built in 1874-75, and cost about $1600. Descendents of the church's founders still worship here today, and the cemetery has more than 1000 headstones. If you look beyond the flagpole and the first row of trees, you can catch a glimpse of the Missouri River as it flows by. (Wilton, Missouri)
