Description
I always look forward to the dogwoods blooming. The trees themselves are unremarkable: short, kind of scrubby looking, and they thrive best in the shelter of bigger, stronger trees. But for a week or so each spring, they burst into these beautiful creamy white and pink blooms. According to the Missouri Secretary of State's website, the Flowering Dogwood has been our official state tree since 1955.
