Artist's Description

This grist mill was built in 1894. Operating with a turbine instead of a water wheel, the mill was "top of the line" for it's day. Alley Spring became part of the Ozark National Scenic Riverways in 1969, and the mill was placed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1981.
