The little church that I belong to sits at the bottom of a hill, in a small Missouri Riverbottom town. On Easter, weather permitting, we have our Sunrise Services outside, at the top of the hill overlooking the church and the town. This year, the weather was perfect...bright sunshine, cool (but not cold) temperatures, and a mist of fog hanging over the river in the distance. The setting helps create an atmosphere of wonder, gratitude and spiritual "oneness."

Cricket Hackmann is a fine art photographer specializing in Missouri landscapes. As a farm wife and mother-of-two, Cricket Hackmann's love of photography began with documenting her children's days...and has expanded to become a means of holding on to a piece of all the beauty that surrounds us. Her goal is to produce vibrant, stunning images of the rural landscapes and close-ups of nature in central Missouri...with occasional other subjects included as they catch her eye. As a self-taught photographer, Cricket works daily to learn new ways of honing her skills and improving her art.
