Description
The view of the Ha Ha Tonka Spring from the castle ruins. It is said that Ha Ha Tonka means "big laugh" or "smiling waters," referring to the spring located in this Missouri State Park. The first permanent mill on the spring was built in the 1830s, by a man named Garland, who is said to have been linked to a band of counterfeiters who used the caves in the area.
