Description
This concrete building is the former "town jail" for a small town in Missouri. Built in 1931, no one remembers any criminals actually being locked up here, but according to old-timers, there may have been a few "heavy drinkers" housed here until they sobered up. Vacant and unused for 40+ years, there was talk at one time of tearing it down, but the public outcry was too great. So they put a placque on it instead, and gave it "historic" status. :-)
